Montréal. Canada.
A 6-hour drive from New York City.
A whole other country just a few hours away.
It’s one of my favorite places to escape the concrete jungle.
I’ve visited two times (once for my 30th birthday and again for my fiance’s 35th birthday).
Montréal is a place that I remember dearly and I’m already planning on returning for future celebrations. It’s like going to Paris (since 65% of the population speak French at home) but half the price. I’ve had the most incredible meals of my life in Montréal and I’ve experienced some of the coldest weather here too.
During my visits I’ve only stayed at AirBnb’s. I prefer this because of pricing and it makes me feel like a local.
Here’s a list of the must-see sites during a visit to Montréal:
Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal - Purchase tickets to enter in advance
Montréal Botanical Garden - It’s open year round
Parc Olympique de Montréal - Check website for weekly events and closing dates
