Amber Steakhouse is an American (with Polish influence) steak house located in Greenpoint Brooklyn.
I love steak and I love Brooklyn. I’ve been to many steakhouses through NY and Vegas but Amber Steakhouse holds a special place in my heart. It’s a place of celebration for my soon to be family who are of Polish descent and we’ve shared many meals here.
Amber Steakhouse as I mentioned is located in Greenpoint. Greenpoint used to be a very popular Polish neighborhood in Brooklyn but things have changed due to gentrification so it’s great that this steak house has survived. The steakhouse opened in 2009 by Henryk Skrodzi who was a chef back in his hometown in Poland and after viewing many interviews of Henryk it was amazing to learn that he worked in a meat market for 5 years upon arriving in America. I say it’s amazing because his knowledge of different meats helped form his love of steak and this allowed for the steakhouse to become what it is today. There are no typical polish dishes served here but the staff speaks Polish and English.
If you plan on dining accessing the restaurant shouldn’t be a problem if you drive. Parking isn’t bad around here and the G or J trains are your subway option.
Obviously this place is famous for its steaks but they serve really delicious seafood dishes as well (scallops, salmon, shrimp, and clams).
The average pricing for steaks here are $50-$60 dollars for a great cut.
The last time I dined here we ordered the RibEye w/ bone (pictured above), calamari (pictured below), creamed spinach, steak tartare, and the pan fried scottish salmon (pictured below). I really REALLY recommend the salmon and the steak tartare. The steak was cooked to perfection. The portions here are large so beware.
The ambiance here gives me old school traditional steakhouse. The seats, the layout, the uniforms everything gives me tradition here.
Amber Steakhouse is perfect for every occasion. Birthdays, dates, anniversaries, and even simple get-togethers.
